Quite often my commander mini incorrectly identifies some of my EK vadar fans as 3-pin (alternates between 3-pin and NC) instead of 4-pin PWM.
Is there a way to force PWM detection for the commander mini?
Thanks for all your hard work.

Quite often my commander mini incorrectly identifies some of my EK vadar fans as 3-pin (alternates between 3-pin and NC) instead of 4-pin PWM. Welcome to the forum and I am wondering if you really mean Commander Mini ( CLCC) rather than Commander Pro ( CLCP)? I suspect it's a CLCP as this happens far more often than with the CLCC. If it really is a CLCC then AFAIK it's impossible to force the mode, but for the CLCP you can. From [ Link Fans ] click on the blob. The incorrect detection is down to the CLCC or CLCP firmware and I suggest you ask for it to be fixed.

Same guy. Sorry, couldn't remember the account details to log in again.
It is definitely a commander mini.
Honestly, corsair weren't very helpful. So I guess I'll just have to live with it. However, there does seem to be a way to fix it without restarting as can be seen from the video.

Setting the fan mode to 'default' seems to trigger the fan detection method. It then cycles between NC and 3 pin mode until it correctly identifies the 4 pin fan (usually only takes a few seconds, sometimes 15 or so seconds). The fan can then be placed back into custom mode. This method always works for me.
Would it be at all possible to add feature that when a specified fan is detected as 3 pin, it is changed back to default until it detects as 4 pin, after which it is changed back to its previous mode?
I understand if this scenario is too obscure for such a workaround to be implemented. But it never hurts to ask.
Thanks.

I am pleased to hear you found a work-a-round, but to implement it in SIV so it automatically happens would be "tricky" to say the least. I would also need a way to test such a change, but don't have an appropriate fan that exhibits the effect. Same guy. Sorry, couldn't remember the account details to log in again. I don't think you had an account before, but were able to post as a guest before I blocked guest posts.
