Hi I have a ASROck X99 Extreme (bios P3.20) with a Xeon E5 2695 V3 chip in it. The CPU core voltage reported by SIV (v5.44) is different from that of CPU-Z for example - with SIV reporting a high 1.77v and CPU-Z down at 0.762v. Firstly - am I comparing apples with apples?!?! CPU temps are totally normal in the 40's (ignore RAM - they have always run at that temp... even with loads of air over them and not overclocked....) Secondly - The bios is at default - so wonder if its still mis-configured with the chip being an engineering sample somehow? Any help or advice most appreciated. David Attachments:

In a word no, the 1.79 is VCCIN (does it's tooltip report it as VCCIN?, it should) and all 14 core voltages are shown for the even numbered CPUs in the Volts column.
The CPU Voltage on [ Power Status ] is the output voltage from the PWM power controller that controls VCCIN.
Do you really have 7 DIMMs, this seems unlikely to me and I wonder, which GPU are you using?

Hi - and thanks for the very quick reply!
Firstly - yes, there are 7 DIMMS currently - I had a 16mb go bad and I only had a pair of 8gb DIMMS to replace it - and have another 16gb on order, should be here this week, so will be back to 6 DIMMS by the weekend. GPU is an old pci-e ATI thing - low power - I only need it to power the display, nothing else needs GPU horses.
Given that we are not looking at apples - what should I change to reduce the 1.7v down to something that is not RED... or should I worry!?!?
The bios is at default... but as I mentioned, its an ES chip.

OK about the DIMMs and I guessed it was an old GPU, I have recently been improving the support for these and wonder, what does Menu->Machine->GPU Info report. To change the highlighting for the 1.79 use Menu->Tools->Configure->Highlight Setup to change and save the VIN @ <type> Voltage values. You may also wish the change the Drive and DIMM temperature levels. As for what VCCIN should be then GIYF.

I wonder, which GPU are you using? Hi Very sorry for the late reply... the GPU is a PCIEx1 Matrox G550-LP-PCIE - a nice low power GPU for a server... David

the GPU is a Matrox G550-LP-PCIe Thank you and I was surprised the G550-LP-PCIe worked. When I just tried mine on W7 x64 Windows could not find a driver, but it's fine on the same system when I boot 2003 x32 server. Which VGA driver are you using please? Attachments:

Which VGA driver are you using please? Hi Sorry for the delay - I did not get an update when your reply was posted so missed your question. I have moved onto a PCIe x1 Nvida GT710 card now, so cannot show a screen shot of the drivers in SIV. I can however confirm that the driver package for the Matrox is "wddm64_5_04_00_030_u_whql" which Google will easily find. They worked fine on 2019DC. Hope that helps. David
